MIND/BODY WELLNESS COACHING

Why Should I Choose Mind/Body Wellness Coaching?

  • I want coaching that’s trauma-informed and non-pathologizing.

  • I need to talk with someone who can help me find my own truth.

  • I feel some aspects of my life are limited and would like to experience more freedom in mind and body.

  • I am in chronic pain or have an autoimmune condition and would like to explore the emotional aspect.

  • I suffer from anxiety, insomnia, chronic digestive issues, or other stress-induced complaints.

As a coach, I see functioning people who want to understand themselves better and experience more freedom in life. As I am not a licensed psychotherapist, I am not the right person to work with those who are a danger to themselves or others or who are experiencing extremely distressed mind states. Because I am a bodyworker, I have a special interest in helping those in chronic pain, but I am happy to see anyone who wishes to engage in a guided dialog toward greater self-awareness and more freedom. I do not see this work as a substitute for medical care, but as an adjunct to whatever physical care the client feels is right for them.

I am especially focused on chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, inspired by my year of study with Dr. Gabor Maté in Compassionate Inquiry. I am a Level 1-trained IFS coach as well as a Certified Trauma Care Practitioner. For an in-depth look at my point of view, see my blog post on coaching.

I see clients by appointment on Zoom for sessions lasting 60 minutes. I charge a sliding scale – see my price list, available upon request – and you will be the one to decide what you can afford. In order to determine if we are a mutually good fit, I suggest we start with a complimentary 60-minute session and then decide whether to continue. I strongly suggest committing to at least three sessions to start, in order to give the work a chance to take root. It’s a gradual process, and your system will set the pace.

Testimonial from a coaching client:

“I have had the privilege of working with Megan over the last six months. She is compassionate, grounded and skilled in her work. Her patience and kindness have created a safe space allowing me to feel comfortable exploring difficult topics at my own pace. If you are looking for someone one who understands the complexities of trauma, I highly recommend Megan Renee Backus.”
