m.bodiment: pain relief on many levels.

A New Yorker for decades, I love the vibrancy of our town and the beautiful variety of people who call it home. Long walks, especially in Central Park or over a bridge, are my favorite way to get out and move and be a part of this fabled city. I also love going out and trying new dishes in the wonderful restaurants of my neighborhood, the East Village.

I’ve had a lot of jobs and vocations: lifeguard, seamstress/fashion designer, typesetter, office assistant, translator, writer, finally landing on bodyworker over ten years ago. I’ve always been fascinated with the interplay among our thoughts, minds, brains, bodies, spirits, emotions – all that makes us who we are in this life.

Starting as a Reiki practitioner in 2005, I became a licensed massage therapist in 2012, continuing a lifelong journey of discovery about what it means to heal and how to go about it. Because I’ve always been especially drawn to helping women and children, I specialized in pregnancy care as well as pediatric massage early on. A most satisfying and effective addition to my toolbox for the last many years has been Abdominal Therapy. During lockdown, I trained and certified in aromatherapy, enhancing my hobby of making herbal tonics, salves, and liniments. Upledger CranioSacral work is a new addition, and it works beautifully on its own or as part of an energy healing session.

Since 2020, I’ve been immersed in continual studies in trauma-informed coaching. I have come to see that much of what shows up in us physically has an emotional origin, and learning how to address and bring help to that in dialog has been a most fruitful path for me and my loved ones as well as my clients.

I firmly believe in a multi-pronged approach to pain, including bodywork, energy healing, herbal remedies, and talk. I am honored to share these ways with you, my fellow New Yorkers (and regional neighbors), and hope you’ll enjoy walking along with me on this path to greater comfort and freedom in body and mind.
